The Barossa Valley is seen as the most premier wine region in Australia. Established in 1842, it is now home to 550 grape growing families and 170 wineries. It has some of the oldest vines in the world and is free of Phylloxera which has impacted many other vine-growing regions across the world. There are over 100 hectares of vines planted in the Barossa more than 100 years old that continue producing fruit to this day.
These vines are not good because they are old, they are old because they are good.
